Active Businesses Gloucestershire is an employer-led network with a shared ambition to enable more people to use sustainable transport and be more active in their travel around Gloucestershire. Our aim is to help the county reach its Net Zero ambitions by decarbonizing transport and reducing the number of car journeys.

Objectives:

• Raise awareness of the positive impact of sustainable travel choices.
• Increase the number of sustainable travel options for our employees.
• Help our employees undertake journeys by active travel or public transport.
• Address transport emissions, improve air quality, and enhance the health of our workforce during their commute and business travel.

Our network focuses on enabling walking and cycling, promoting public transport, and encouraging car sharing. Supported by Gloucestershire County Council through the Capability Fund, we align our efforts with the new walking and cycling infrastructure along the B4063 corridor.

Get Involved: Businesses in Cheltenham, Gloucester, the B4063 corridor, Bishops Cleeve, and Gloucester Business Park are invited to join our network.

Active Businesses Gloucestershire offers a wide range of activities and support to businesses in the network, all free of charge* and subject to availability.

Active Businesses Gloucestershire Network Meetings

• Quarterly Meetings: Briefings on transport projects, sharing best practices, and collaboration on sustainable travel and commuting issues.

Love to Ride Gloucestershire

• Online Community: Encouraging staff to cycle to work throughout the year with events like Bike Month in May and Cycle September. Register online at Love to Ride Gloucestershire.

Led Walks

Active Travel Roadshows

• On-site Travel Advice Stalls: Provided by ThinkTravel advisers, offering the latest travel information, free offers, and route planning help. Request a roadshow for your workplace.

Bikeability

• Cycle Confidence Training: On-site sessions for staff led by experienced cycle instructors, tailored to new cyclists or those looking to build confidence. Find out more about Bikeability.
