The Department for Transport (DfT) is actively promoting and expanding trials of rental e-scooters to support sustainable local travel and address reduced public transport capacity. E-scooters offer a convenient, eco-friendly, and affordable mode of transportation, helping to alleviate strain on transportation systems and enable social distancing.

Since 4 July 2020, the Department for Transport has amended the law to allow e-scooter trial schemes across the UK. This means that you can now legally ride an e-scooter within designated trial areas, following the rules outlined in the highway code, including on the road and cycle paths.

Our partner, Voi, has deployed e-scooters in these trial areas, making them available for hire. If you encounter any issues with an e-scooter, please reach out to Voi as your primary point of contact.
