Bikeability training

Bikeability is available to anyone, adults, children ( age 9 upward), schools or groups to give them the skills, confidence and knowledge to make journeys independently by bicycle in both urban and rural areas.

All training sessions are matched to your specific cycle needs. Riders can learn everything from basic bike handling to tackling complex road layouts in heavy traffic.

cycling trainingWhat's involved?

Bikeability training has three levels:

  • Level 1 - controlling the bike in a traffic free area.
  • Level 2 - making a journey on quieter roads with simple junctions.
  • Level 3 - making a journey on busier roads, riding through more complex junction roundabouts, traffic lights and using multi-lanes.

Bikeability teaches children and adults practical bike skills and gives them the knowledge they need for cycling on the roads.
