Find out how to make the most of the site, with a quick guide to saving useful pages and using our handy journey calculator…
When you find some useful information on the site, you can save the page for easy reference. Just click on the green tab – there’s one at the top and bottom of every page – and your page will be saved to the My Journey section of the site.
Managing saved pages
You can view your saved pages at any time. Simply go to saved pages in the My Journey section for your Saved List which displays any and all pages you’ve saved on any visits to the site.
The My Journey tool gives a quick comparison of your travel options and costs.
Just enter your start and destination postcodes, or a destination name (e.g. Gloucester) and it will calculate exactly how far you've travelled. If you already know how far you travel, you can enter the figure in the manual distance option instead.
Next, select whether it’s a return journey and specify how many days a week you make the journey.
Finally, click calculate and get your results...
Your results will compare the relative costs and health benefits (in terms of calories burned) of driving, cycling, walking and public transport.
Only petrol cost are calculated – based on the cost of travelling in an average-sized family car. Remember that running a car includes other costs, including the cost of tax, motor insurance and your MOT.
Think about your journey.
