Bikeability training

Get confident cycling!

Bikeability - cycling proficiency for the 21st Century!

Bikeability equips cyclists with the skills, confidence and awareness to become safe road users.

Who's it for?

Bikeability is for all. Both children and adults can benefit from Bikeability training, be it learning the ropes, improving confidence or learning advanced skills for more complex roads. Children's courses cost £8 (free to those children eligible for school meals) and £30 for adults.

What's involved?

Bikeability has three levels:

  • Level 1- Controlling the bike in a traffic free area.
  • Level 2- Making a journey on quieter roads with simple junctions.
  • Level 3- Making a journey on busier roads riding through more complex junction roundabouts, traffic lights and using multi lanes.

Where and when?

Courses are run often from the clients home or place of work and along routes familiar to them. Courses can be run at times convenient to you.

Do I need my own bike?

Ideally yes; although borrowing a bike might be suitable so long as it fits the rider.
